Destin: Comfort, Convenience, and Classic Beach Life

1. Jade East Towers — Family-Friendly & Gulf View
A longtime favorite in Destin for families seeking room to spread out and easy beach access. These generously sized condo units feature multiple bedrooms and expansive balconies, making them ideal for families and groups traveling together. Guests typically enjoy amenities like a beachfront pool and seasonal beach service, plus the bonus of being just minutes from Big Kahuna’s Waterpark, The Track, and Destin Harbor — keeping everyone entertained without long drives. Why people love it:

  • Direct Gulf views and easy beach access

  • Near the top Destin attractions

  • Great balance of space and convenience

Best for: Families or larger groups who want beach life with activities nearby

2. Silver Shells Beach Resort & Spa — More Luxury and Relaxation
For travelers looking for a true resort atmosphere instead of a standard condo stay, Silver Shells offers an elevated experience. With private beach access, lagoon-style pools, and a full-service spa, it feels like a destination all on its own. On-site dining, including Ruth’s Chris Steak House, adds an upscale touch, creating a polished retreat that still keeps you right in the heart of Destin.

Be sure to know which building you are in; this resort has another location, and reservations run through the same reservation office.  The other location is called Silver Beach Towers.  These are also beautiful and luxurious. Both towers are Gulf front (Silver Shells has buildings that are not Gulf front), but they will not have a beach bar, and Ruth Chris and the Spa are not at this location.

Why people love it:

  • Spa, pools, and refined dining

  • Great for couples or mixed groups

  • Private beach vibe without losing convenience

Best for: Couples, adults, or families who enjoy resort amenities

3. Henderson Beach Resort (one of the newest resorts in Destin)

This is our FAVORITE CHOICE, even if we did put it at number 3.

Beautiful resort with a magnificent porch looking over the Henderson State Park and views of the Gulf, upscale resort, lazy river, bonfire pit, adult-only pool, and family pools.

  • Spa

  • Bars (rooftop bar and cocktail bar)

  • Fine Dining restaurant with a casual atmosphere for all

  • Poolside dining and drinks

  • Kid-friendly and kid activities

  • Room Service

Best for: Family trips, romantic getaways, business conferences, wedding receptions

Final Thoughts: Match Your Stay to Your Trip Style

Destin is perfect if you want activities, attractions, and classic beach living, not a ton of walking.
30A is best for scenic beauty, bike-friendly towns, and relaxed, upscale stays. Walking friendly.
Miramar Beach delivers big views, resort-like amenities, and convenience. Walking friendly.

Wherever you stay, the Emerald Coast shares the same sugar-white sand and emerald water — but the vibe changes with your choice of home base.
