August is still very much beach season on the Emerald Coast. Expect warm Gulf water, afternoon thunderstorms, live music almost everywhere and plenty of family-friendly activities.
πΆ Wednesday Night Concert Series at Baytowne Wharf
Where: The Village of Baytowne Wharf, Miramar Beach
When: Wednesdays through August 26
Time: 7β9 p.m.
Cost: Free
If you're looking for free live music in Miramar Beach, head to Baytowne Wharf.
The August lineup includes:

The concerts take place on the Events Plaza Stage and feature local and regional musicians.
Local tip: Grab dinner nearby and make an evening of it. Baytowne is especially fun for families because there are shops, restaurants and activities all within walking distance.
ποΈ Farmers Markets Around 30A & Miramar Beach
If you're visiting the Emerald Coast and want to experience a little more of the local side of the area, farmers markets are a great place to start.
Grand Boulevard Farmers Market
Where: Grand Boulevard, Miramar Beach
When: Saturdays
Time: 9 a.m.β1 p.m.
The market features local food, produce, honey, baked goods, flowers, handmade products and other vendors. It is held year-round, weather permitting.
30A Farmers Market β Rosemary Beach
Where: Rosemary Beach
When: Sundays
Time: 9 a.m.β1 p.m.
The Rosemary Beach farmers market is one of the most popular recurring Sunday activities along 30A. Upcoming dates include August 23, August 30, September 6 and September 13.
Seaside Farmers Market
The Seaside Farmers Market continues to be a popular Tuesday stop for visitors and locals looking for fresh food, local vendors and that classic 30A atmosphere.
Emerald Coast Unfiltered tip: Go early, especially during the summer. You'll beat some of the heat and have a better chance of finding parking.
π¬ Movies, Music & Family Fun Along 30A
Scenic Highway 30A has events happening throughout the week, from outdoor movies to live music and family activities.
For example, Central Square Cinema at Seaside continues its outdoor movie nights, while venues throughout 30A host live music, dueling pianos, karaoke and other evening entertainment.
One of the best ways to find something spontaneous to do is to check the current 30A event calendar because new events are added regularly.
π¨ Perfect Hues: Baytowne Wharf Art Fest
Where: The Village of Baytowne Wharf, Miramar Beach
When: September 4β6
Time: 5β9 p.m. nightly
Cost: Free
This is one of the events I would put near the top of your September calendar.
Perfect Hues brings local and regional artists to Baytowne Wharf for a Labor Day weekend art festival featuring paintings, photography, jewelry, sculpture and other artwork.
There will also be live music each evening from 7β9 p.m., followed by fireworks over the lagoon on Sunday night at 9 p.m.

This is a great event for couples, families and anyone who wants something to do after spending the day at the beach.
πΊπΈ Labor Day Weekend on the Emerald Coast
Labor Day: Monday, September 7, 2026
Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest weekends of the year along the Emerald Coast.
Expect live entertainment, beach activities, restaurants packed with visitors and special events throughout Destin, Miramar Beach and 30A.
In Destin, HarborWalk Village is scheduled to host Labor Day weekend festivities, with fireworks over Destin Harbor on Monday, September 7.
Planning to visit?
If you're coming to Destin or 30A for Labor Day weekend:
Make restaurant reservations early.
Expect heavier traffic.
Give yourself extra time to park.
Don't rely on finding a last-minute beach parking spot.
Check weather conditions before heading out on the water.
Plan your fireworks viewing location ahead of time.
π Stargazing at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park
Where: Topsail Hill Preserve State Park
When: Various dates through August and into September
One of the coolest things about the Emerald Coast is that there are experiences beyond the beach.
Stargazing events at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park offer visitors an opportunity to experience the night sky away from the bright lights of the beach communities. The event calendar currently lists Sun, Moon & Stars programming at Topsail Hill through August 25.
If you have kids who are interested in science, nature or astronomy, this is a great alternative to another night at the beach.

September is one of my favorite months on the Emerald Coast.
The temperatures begin to ease, the summer crowds start thinning out and there are still plenty of events happening.

Operation Outdoor Freedom Trailfest includes a 5K, 10K and 10-mile race and is one of the September outdoor events featured on the South Walton calendar.

The Burgers, Bourbon & Beer Festival returns to Destin in September, benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast.

This is definitely one for the adults.
π International Coastal Cleanup Day
Where: Sandestin / Beach House
When: September 19
Time: 8β10 a.m.
International Coastal Cleanup Day takes place September 19 and is listed on the Sandestin events calendar.
It's a great opportunity for locals and visitors to give back to the beaches that make the Emerald Coast so special.
Bring your family, grab some friends and spend a couple of hours helping keep our beaches beautiful.
π Sandestin Triathlon
Where: Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
When: September 23
Calling all athletes!
The Sandestin Triathlon features approximately a half-mile swim, 20-mile bike ride and 4-mile run through the Sandestin area.
The event attracts hundreds of competitors from across the Southeast.
Even if you aren't participating, it can be fun to watch the athletes compete.
π¦ 48th Annual Destin Seafood Festival
Where: Destin Harbor Boardwalk

If you only put one Destin event on your September calendar, make it this one.
The 48th Annual Destin Seafood Festival returns to the Destin Harbor Boardwalk September 25β27.
The festival celebrates Destin's fishing heritage and includes:

Waterfront entertainment
General admission is free.
